It's current year, so of course you have action girls all over the place, women are the tough guys, men are the support, you know the drill. Where it feels especially lacking is the story and the characters. Nothing new, but nothing atrocious either. You have missions you can go to and you get upgrade materials and resources from said missions that you can use. Characters also aren't unique there, everyone falls into one of 3 categories. The real time stealth is awkward and never really feels like it's all that necessary. It's also definitely on the easy side, even on the hardest difficulty. The combat is the better one, with multiple ways to give abilities to your agents (you have items, a skill tree and a card system), but it's still not particularly deep. It's a mix of newXCOM style turn based battles, and real time stealthing like Shadow Tactics or Desperados. Unfortunately, we get accustomed to purchasing these games from these big name studios that offer cheap mechanics and lousy game play because they have great ideas and good writers but little value when the rubber hits the road. The mechanics and movement variables in this game are atrocious and I regret purchasing it. In fact, I would rate the Miasma Chronicles better than this game, by a long shot. This game is nowhere near XCOM in quality or mechanics.

You can't kill them, and when you do, they re-spawn and attack again with fire. I spent about 4 hours attempting to kill off 3 fire breathing mummies in an effort to steal a keystone, when I decided to try to hit and run, which got me the keystone without even having to deal with the deadly fire mummies. One is better off going in guns blazing and actually getting the jump on the enemy. Stealth is totally a wet dream with no reward. The intention and ideology of the game are absolutely a gamers dream come true, however, the mechanics, movement and objectives are absolute garbage. I would certainly pass on purchasing this game if there was an option of being able to play without buying.
